Town Pub of the Year:
Rural Pub of the Year:
The 2021 Pub of the Year results might seem a little familiar if you can recall the 2020 results - in fact they're identical. With the pandemic closing pubs for much of 2020-21 last year's winners didn't get much of a chance to shine in the limelight, so we're giving them another opportunity in 2021-22. Normal service is expected to be resumed next year - so get down the pub, any pub, every pub and start drawing up your voting shortlist. Whilst you're there don't forget to drop in a beer score or two!
Where #poty leads, #cpoty follows... that's Cider Pub of the Year. As with Pub of the Year, the results may bring a sense of deja-vu as we're re-awarding last year's titles again. With the pandemic closing pubs for much of 2020-21 last year's winners didn't get much of a chance in the limelight (should that be apple light?)...
Normal service is expected to be resumed next year - so get down the pub, any pub, every pub and start drawing up your fruit-based voting shortlist.

The Ale House on Butt Road is the newest addition to the Colchester Real Ale Pub scene. Formerly 'The Dragoon' the pub was sold by Adnams to, landlords of The Bricklayer's, Fred and Hazel. A lengthy refurbishment has followed but we're very pleased to see it re-open. The Ale House completes a 'real ale triangle' north of Southway - with The Fat Cat opposite and The New Inn on South Street.
The very nice people behind the Colchester Cricket Festival are offering a double attraction for cricket-loving CAMRA members. Firstly they'll be offering a wider than usual range of beers:

Festivals are staffed entirely by volunteers, and without their help they simply could not happen. Volunteer staff are needed at all sessions of the beer festival, and also for setting up and taking down, so your help is needed — even if you can only manage a few hours. Every little helps.
If you can lend a hand please complete a staffing form as soon as you can - it's required by the health and safety mandrills and helps reassure our staffing officer that he's got staff!
To fill your ears on Saturday night, this year Double Barrel will be bringin you their Ska/Raggae choooons.
To fill your tummy all week long Char-Grill will be back with hog roast, bbq, jacket potatos, chips and salads, Ken the Curry Man will be bringing his delicious freshly cooked vegatarian and meaty currys.
