John from the White Horse, Edwardstone explains all:
I thought I should drop you a line regarding our 16th ‘Dark Ale Days’ beer festival at the White horse Inn, Edwardstone.
As you probably know CAMRA has run a campaign for several years ‘Mild for May’ trying to attract a bit of attention to a drink that nearly disappeared a few years ago but one with a history that starts with the origins of Ale and evolved into the drink of every Public Bar in the country 60 years ago, in 1980 it had nearly gone for ever. Now we believe we have the earliest pub based Beer Festival in the county to focus attention on this traditional English beer. Dark Ale Days has now been going for 16 years.
There will be music, Mild Ales of many sorts, music, Stouts & Porters, Folk music and more beer and great home prepared food at the Edwardstone White Horse home of the award winning Eco Brewery ‘Mill Green Brewery’ . All situated, off the beaten track, with footpaths running direct from the door into the Spring countryside. There is camping available on site.
