LocAle is short for Local Ale. CAMRA LocAle is a new initiative that promotes pubs stocking locally brewed real ale. The scheme builds on a growing consumer demand for quality local produce and an increased awareness of 'green' issues.

You might see pubs displaying a LocAle logo on beers that are brewed locally (though just because there's no logo it doesn't mean that the beer definitely isn't local). The definition of how many miles a beer can travel from brewer to pub and still be called local is set by the branch. We use a 25 miles radius around Colchester Town Hall as the limit.
