Ride to Maldon to meet with Second Sunday bus trip

Sunday, October 9, 2016 - 10:00am to Monday, October 10, 2016 - 9:45am

A ride to Maldon to meet up with the bus-bound Second Sunday pub crawlers.

Leaders: Nigel (cycling contingent) and Ted Ted (bus rabble).

From a cycaleists point of view we will meet 10.00am at the old Maypole Pub (now a shooting and fishing outlet I believe) at the junction of Berechurch Road/Berechurch Hall Road/Bounstead Road.

We will then head to Maldon via Tiptree Tea rooms to meet with the Staggerers at 12 noon.

Their plans are to do the following pubs:

Farmer's Yard

Rose & Crown (Spoons)

Queens Head

Mighty Oak Tap

Carpenters

Blue Boar

Ted has suggested food at the Rose and Crown or Queens Head. I will probably not book lunch anywhere unless you want me to.

The Staggerers are not departing until 6.00pm, but I would suggest that we leave about 4.00pm. This will allow time for a stop in Messing on the way home and still get us back before dark. Given the shorter time frame that we will have in Maldon we might need to be a bit more selective about the pubs we visit.

If you are planning to stay in Maldon a bit longer please remember to take lights with you.

Meeting Place:
10am outside Radcliffe's (the old Maypole Pub on Berechurch Road)
